It was when i looked into his eye’s that I seen the complete & deep passion he holds such a love for his land & people. My father spoke as he frequented the N.T many times when i was young & would tell me stories of dream time & other tales,he loved so much about the people who he stayed with, there were many Aboriginal communities that he became friends with…When i seen the footage of the native title with twiggy & his total lack of respect for Mr Ned Cheedy, I was angry, i thought that if he had grown up around these area’s how could he be so disrespectful to such an awe Inspiring Elder. i was just wondering ,if you could please pass a message on to Mr Ned Cheedy. My father taught me how to love your land & to trust your people, I have sided with you & will for ever be by you. As an Adnyamathanha person from the Flinders Ranges region in SA I wish to express my greatest solidarity with those Traditional Owners who are suffering the consequences of Native Title and the greed that it has created; it’s so ironic to think that success in lodging a Native Title claim is all about proving an ongoing connection to land, yet the people in positions of power are responsible for selling off our precious sites, all for a bit of blood money. I feel the alliance between government and mining industry in this country is stripping our humanrights as Indigenous peoples and perpetuating economic assimilation. All across this nation, there are Traditional Owners in the same predicament. We must somehow stay strong, and work together when possible.
