Pansy Cheedy, a member of the Yindjibarndi aboriginal people of North-Western Australia comments on why, after many years of quiet living, she has become motivated to speak out on issues which cause her concern.

  1. As a non-indigenous person, I support Pansy and her people in their struggle for equality and justice. I feel ashamed by the racist policies of all levels of Government in the country. I speak out whenever and wherever I can.

    It’s obscene that after more than 200 years, greedy governments support the wealthy mining companies while they steal and destroy aboriginal people and their land/s.

    No wonder they don’t want aboriginal people ‘mentioned’ in the Constitution – this way they can do as they please.

    I wish all communities that are fighting greed and destruction of their homelands and peoples, the very best. Please be assured, that there are many like me who are speaking out and taking action where they can. You are not alone!
